Fonts:
- send all fonts & support files that are included in the artwork.
- if it is possible please convert fonts to curves (select all & create outline).
Photos and bitmaps:
- always, if it’s possible, enclose elements that aren’t vectors as separate files, best as psd files with preserved layers, channels and selections
- enclose a description of used effects with all parameters
- the resolution of 8 bit photos should be 1,5 times bigger then the planed screen ruling, for example, if the ruling on the plate is 100lpi (depending on the printing house) then the resolution of the image (cmyk, rgb, lab) is 150dpi; 1 bit maps - 800dpi
- if there is no information about the planed ruling, please send us a photo in the original resolution (usually it’s 300dpi)
- please do not scale bitmaps in layout programs (they should be in a 1:1 scale)
- please do not assemble texts in Photoshop or other bitmap programs
Maximal colour covering:
It stands between 270 and 320%. By warm colours please control the usage of cyan (it can cause a blue effect) and in cold colours - magenta (causes reddening).
Other elements:
- recommended minimal width of positive lines is 0.1-0.2 mm and 0.2-0.3 mm for negative lines
- please don’t crate negative typeface texts in more then one separation, but if it is necessary, the inner edges of the letters (min. 0.1 mm) should be left in one separation (other colours will be moved)
- light coloured texts on a dark background (the open area under them) should have a min. line width of 0.4 mm (precise machines have a non-fitting tolerance of 0.1-0.2mm), dark texts on the other hand should be overprinted
- the 1-2% screening dot has an optical increase up to 8-12%, this has to be taken into account while using linear gradients from - so called - 0% , a visible edge will appear.
Cartons:
- please enclose the drawing in a 1:1 scale with description of the sides (outside or inside)
- please take to account bleeds, in photo artwork, that go outside the drawing
- enclose visual data that shows the artwork’s layout on the drawing
